RECYCLING WEEK β»
18th September 2025
This National Recycling Week (22nd September - 28th September),
there’s never been a better time to make a difference! At Riverside Shopping Centre,
plenty of your favourite stores offer recycling services, and some even reward
you for doing it. From donating clothes and recycling batteries to giving
old phones a new life, doing good for the environment has never felt so good. πβ¨
EE
It couldn’t be simpler to recycle your old batteries
with Three and EE. Just pop into store and hand them over without any
fuss or hassle. By recycling your batteries, you’re helping to reduce waste
and protect the environment, making a small action have a big impact. πβ‘
Clarks
Clarks’ ShoeShare scheme turns unwanted shoes into
real change. Instead of sending worn or unwanted pairs to landfill, you can
donate them in-store to help fund life-changing programmes with Clarks’ charity
partners, including UNICEF. Since 2008, ShoeShare has raised over £1.6
million and supported projects in the UK and around the world. Over 500
schools have also taken part, helping to transform lives one pair of shoes
at a time. Got shoes you no longer wear? Drop them off at Clarks and make a
difference today. πβ
TK Maxx
Since 2004, TK Maxx customers and associates have raised over
£45 million, making a real difference, one donation at a time. You can help
support Cancer Research UK by dropping quality clothes and accessories in
the donation box in-store. These donations fund research into children’s and
young people’s cancers. ππ
Waterstones
When you buy a new electrical item from Waterstones, such as
a pocket calculator or booklight, you can bring your old like-for-like
item into store within 28 days. Show your receipt, and we’ll take care
of the rest, safely recycling your old device. The item doesn’t need to have
been originally purchased from Waterstones, but it must be similar in type
and size to your new product. Please ensure your old item is clean, dry,
and safe to handle when returning it in-store. ππ‘
Barnardo’s
Barnardo’s helps give unwanted items a second life. Damaged
donations to their retail shops, including textiles, shoes, books, DVDs, and
CDs, are recycled instead of going to landfill. They also recycle plastics,
cardboard, metal, and electrical items, ensuring as much waste as possible
is repurposed or reused, helping both the environment and their
charitable work. πΏπ»
Dreams Beds
When you buy a new bed from Dreams, you can have your
old one collected directly from your home. Your mattress is then sent to
their specialised recycling centre, where it’s safely broken down and
recycled. It’s a simple way to upgrade your sleep space while helping the
environment. ππ€
H&M
At H&M, you can drop off unwanted clothes and
textiles to be recycled or repurposed. Not only does this help reduce
waste and give fabrics a second life, but you’ll also earn points on
your H&M membership as a reward for recycling! ππ
Next
When updating your home, Next makes it easy to give your
old furniture a second life. Unwanted items can be donated to The
British Heart Foundation to help others, or responsibly recycled
through Clearabee, ensuring materials are handled safely and waste is
