WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY 💜🧠

World Mental Health Day is on Thursday 10th October every year.

Each year there is a different theme that the day is based on, this year is based around workplace mental health and how it is impacted within the workplace. It is based on this because work can have a massive impact on people’s mental health, in either a positive or it negative impact. These are our tips on how to keep your mental health positive after work hours:  

 

Tip Number One: Colouring 🎨

 Colouring has been proven to help improve the mindfulness of someone due to them being able to relax and take their mind off the things that ae happening in their life around them. Being able to do colouring after work means that you can wind down, destress and forget about the things happening at work, to help improve your mental health surrounding work-related issues.  One place that has a good selection of colouring books for adults is in Waterstones, many different styles to allow everyone the opportunity to colour and destress from the day! 

Tip Number Two: Herbal Tea ☕

Drinking herbal tea with chamomil in has different ingredients in it that is used to help with your mood, memory and stress. By drinking this it will allow you to destress and relax from the day that you have had at work, which will leave u feeling more positive about the day. Head down to Starbucks or TKMAXX to pick up your herbal tea to help you relax after a stressful in the office

Tip Number Three: Reading 📙

Reading allows you to distract your mind from the stresses that are happening around you and allows you to escape normality. By reading the correct book for you it means that you will be able to relate to the characters and connect with them. Tip Number Four: Game 🎮

By taking part in doing an active game like pickleball it will allow your brain to release different endorphins through your body to reduce the level of stress that you are feeling and helping your body and mind. Not only does it help  your mental health it will also help your mental health it will mean that you can engage with either the people you work with or other around you. TKMAXX and Barnardo's has a great selection of different games either are physically or mentally challenging to help relax and occupy your mind after a stressful day at work.  

Tip Number Five: Walking 🥾

It is proven that going for a walk either a long or short helps to release endorphins within your body which are chemicals that make you feel good and help reduce he symptoms of anxiety and depression.
