Waterstones Children's Book Prize Winners ✨

Waterstones are thrilled to reveal that the overall winner of the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize 2023 is The Cats We Meet Along the Way by Nadia Mikail, also the winner of our Older Readers category. Tender, moving, and brimming with hope - this is a beautiful tribute to working out what truly matters when life as you know it threatens to vanish forever. 🐱

 

The Younger Readers winner is Nura and the Immortal Palace by M. T. Khan, an enchanting children's debut steeped in Muslim folklore, featuring magic and trickster jinns. 🌟

 

And the Illustrated Books winner is Gretel the Wonder Mammoth by Kim Hillyard, a wonderful tale about how the bravest act is sometimes to ask for help. 💗
